Great tip on squaring case after clamping, Thanks
I think the best part of this series is the fact that you see Matt work in real time, no cut aways. Really enjoying watching the work being done. Excellent. It's the next best thing to actually being in a class.
Nice glue-up process. I do not recall if the pin reliefs that can be seen in the corner cauls were specifically mentioned, but they are, of course, important! Also, does anyone else cringe as those pins are being driven home? (I must have had some disastrous splits occur at that point...)

Why all the glue on the non-long grain surfaces? What purpose does it serve to try and glue the end grain? When I glue up dovetails I only concentrate on the long grain surfaces.
Great video. Only part I was confused on was when he adjusted the bottom clamps. At one point Matt says that they are doing the reverse in terms of which side goes up or down. But they adjust the clamps top and bottom in the same orientation. Matt's side goes up and Grant's side goes down. Unless I am missing something.
Either way, I like the real time vid.
Very well done methodical explanation of the process. Bravo.
I nominate this picture for best drama...
I was on the edge of my seat while watching the glue up in Episode 7, while Matt and Grant were cool as cucumbers methodically working through the process. Best advice for me is, if you can get an extra set of woodworking hands at this stage in the process, take it! Nice work, lads!! And many thanks, Mr. Grant, for your service to our country!
Great video series!! Do more like this!!!
Really great series, lots of good tips. During glue up, shouldn't you check the other end of the case also for square in case of twist?
Enjoying the series - but oh so impatient for the next installment :)
Thanks guys, really well done.
