I recently acquired my first bandsaw. My first project was my version of your box in this video. It is made from Purple Heart. It turned out very well...I wish I could share a couple of images of it with you.
Thank-you very much for sharing this approach and the techniques used. I found the videos and articles very easy to understand and follow.
I have three more blocks of various woods to expand my "box collection" and hone my skills.
